How to update M1 firmware safely.
Before updating
Back up your current tune. Firmware updates never erase the tune, but a backup is cheap insurance.
Procedure
- Connect USB with the engine off.
- Open the tuning software and choose Firmware → Update.
- Select the release file and confirm.
- Do not disconnect until the unit reboots.
Recovery
If an update is interrupted, the M1 falls back to the bootloader. Re‑run the update; the unit cannot be bricked by a failed flash.
